A catch-all e-mailbox is one that collects all the messages sent to nonexistent email addresses. For instance, if your address is info@domain.com, but someone mistypes it and sends an email to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Only one mailbox per domain name can have this feature enabled and thus you will never miss emails because the other side has an obsolete email address or has made a mistake. The drawback of having a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving lots of unsolicited email messages, but this issue can be fixed using an anti-spam protection solution. It’s also important to bear in mind that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all functionality cannot redirect incoming email messages to a third-party email address.

Catch-all Emails in Cloud Hosting

In case you have a cloud hosting plan with our company and you want to activate the catch-all functionality for a specific email mailbox that you’ve got in the hosting account, it’ll take literally just a single mouse click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to do that. A catch-all button is available on the right side of each email address that you have set up under any domain name registered in your account. You can pick one email address per domain by clicking on the corresponding button. This will enable the feature momentarily, so all emails sent to miswritten addresses will be re-sent there. Clicking on the button again will turn off the catch-all feature. In case you have activated email forwarding, our system will exhibit a cautionary notice and you won’t be able to activate the catch-all feature until you delete the forwarding or you can simply choose a different mailbox to be the catch-all one.
