.IT Domains

Established in 1987, Italy’s dot IT country-code domain extension is quite popular both locally and in the English-speaking world. The reason is that the domain is a pronoun, which can be used for forming imaginative and attractive domain names – write.it, youcanmake.it and so on. This is a way to create an easy-to-memorize domain name, so that it will be easier for your visitors to return to your website or to share it with colleagues and friends. The domain name extension can also be used for a website, which is linked to the information technology sector having in mind the fact that IT is an abbreviation, which is well-known worldwide.

Bearing in mind that .IT domains are not provided directly by IT-NIC, the Registry organization that administrates this top-level domain extension, such a domain can be reserved through a 3rd-party service provider, such as ours. We will manage the registration process for you and take care of submitting your application to the Registry. You can obtain a dot IT domain for one year at a time, and the domains are transferable, so you can move your existing domain over to our firm and we will renew it after the transfer has been completed. The sole prerequisite is that the person reserving such a domain has to be situated in a country from the European Union.

Since there are existing 2nd-level Domains that include names of different areas and localities in Italy reserved for local 3rd-level registrations, new names that consist of geographical areas of any sort are not allowed on any level to avoid any future confusion. We do not support such third-level domains, though, as they can be registered only by locals.
